Process Paper
I chose my topic, Brown v. Board of Education, because I have always found the subject of segregation to desegregation interesting. The journey to equality has an inspiring quality and story in every case. I also find the aspect of a good education taken for granted, and enjoy learning about those who do not have the right to a good education.
I conducted my research by going to the Dauphin County East Shore Area Library to check out books related to my topic. I also went online to the Library of Congress, History.com, United States Courts website, and many others.
I selected a website as my presentation category because a website is what I have been doing for the last two years, and I enjoy making them. I created my project by making an outline of what pages I wanted on a piece of paper. I then started to make the pages on Weebly. After that, I began filling in information on all of the pages, added pictures, and added quotes.
My topic relates to the National History Day theme, “Rights and Responsibilities” because Linda Brown had the right, according to the Constitution of the United States of America, to ride the school bus that passed her house to school, instead of walking six blocks to catch the school bus to take her two and a half miles to her all black school. The same with all of the other cases under Brown v. Board of Education.
